Hacienda Herrera Tambopata

Hacienda Herrera Tambopata is a family-run, rustic ecolodge with comfortably furnished rooms and bungalows located near Puerto Maldonado next to the Tambopata National Reserve, part of the Amazon, in Southeastern Peru.

Accommodation is in bungalows, which can be for single, double, twin, triple or quadruple occupancy. Bathrooms are private or shared.

You can choose from a fascinating range of jungle tours and activities, which can be booked whilst at the lodge and are not included in the price of the accommodation. They include visits to Sandoval Lake, Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, cooking classes, cycling, kayaking, piranha fishing at the Yacumama Lake, which is part of a conservation project and home to thousands of parrots and macaws, nightwalks, and a visit to the Cachuela parrot lick.

All meals are provided by the lodge’s restaurant, whose friendly staff can cater for special diets and it uses mostly local food or food grown on the lodge’s organic farm.

Hacienda Herrera Tambopata is within easy reach of the centre of Puerto Maldonado – it is a 20 minute boat ride and transfers from the airport or bus station are included with bookings.
