Tambopata Ecolodge

Tambopata Ecolodge is a comfortable, remote ecolodge surrounded by primary forest near the Madre de Dios River, next to Tambopata National Reserve, part of the Amazon, Peru. It is located within a large conservation area covering 1065 hectares – the country’s largest protected natural area of its type.

Accommodation is in one of the lodge’s spacious bungalows, each of which sleep two people. They have private bathrooms with 24-hour hot water provided by solar energy and private terraces.

An outstanding range of activities and all meals are included with bookings. Some of its activity programs include visits to the Colorado Clay Lick, the biggest and most remote macaw and parrot claylick in the world, Chuncho Clay Lick, Condenado Lake, Sachavacayoc Lake, jungle treks, nightwalks and caiman searches.

Visitors can swim in a stream that flows through the rainforest near the lodge.

Tambopata Ecolodge has been officially recognised as an Ecolodge by the Peruvian government.

It is a three hours’ trip from Puerto Maldonado airport by bus and boat (approximately 45 minutes by bus and the rest by boat).
